The Pentecost vigil in Taiwan was held on May 19 at the Wanchin Basilica of the Immaculate Conception in Kaohsiung diocese. The theme was “Rejoice! Receive the Holy Spirit and go evangelize”.
There were about 400 participants from 7 dioceses of Taiwan. Archbishop Peter Liu from Kaohsiung diocese and 8 priests from different dioceses came to join the Vigil. Before the Vigil started , the sacrament of reconciliation was arranged in the morning. About 70 people received the sacrament of reconciliation and it was a moment of deep jubilation.
The Vigil began with praise and worship, followed by Gospel preaching, a testimony (by a couple), laying of hands and lastly the Eucharist celebration.

The participants were encouraged to open their hearts to receive the Holy Spirit – for it is the Holy Spirit who empowers us to receive His Power through His grace to live and proclaim the Gospel.
The primary mission of the church is to evangelize and the Holy Spirit is God’s great aid to help us in the journey of evangelization and witnessing . Through His Power we are able to carry God’s love to a broken world even as He gives us the strength to imitate Christ by living the Beatitudes which Jesus taught was the pathway to holiness.
May the Lord continue to empower Taiwan CCR.
