December 10th was indeed the Day of the Lord —The day of Salvation and Healing to many who came to receive the blessings the Lord was going to bestow. It was an afternoon of Praise and Worship and healing for hundreds who attended the ISAO Healing Rally at Holy Innocents’ High School, organized by SAACRE (Singapore Archdiocesan Catholic Charismatic Renewal)
The ISAO team which consists of members from Asia and Oceania region arrived in Singapore for their annual meeting. ISAO is responsible for strengthening fellowship within the Charismatic renewal in the region, convening consultations and events, and also for assisting those countries in need of guidance and help.
The rally saw ICCRS president Jim Murphy speak on the theme, “Catholic Charismatic Renewal – Perpetual Current of Grace”. Jim Murphy highlighted that Pope Francis referred to the Charismatic renewal as a “perpetual current of grace” during the 50th anniversary celebration of the Catholic Charismatic renewal in Rome, in June 2017. The Pope had said that the Charismatic renewal was born of the will of the Spirit as “a current of grace in the Church and for the Church”, the image here being that of a river which brings life to people, adding that “the Holy Spirit is the Lord and giver of life”.
Jim Murphy also shared that the Catholic Charismatic renewal has transformed lives and motivated and empowered men and women for service to the church and to one another.
The rally was also a time for testimonies demonstrating the work of the Spirit in our lives. Kaviratne Ranjana from Sri Lanka, shared how the Charismatic renewal took root in her country in 1971 and how it has changed people’s lives ever since and Jude Deepak from UAE shared how attending Charismatic meetings turned his life around.
ISAO chairman Cyril John spoke on the theme, I Am Making Everything New (Rev 21:5).
He said he believed that the Spirit of the Lord is making everything new, especially in areas such as communion, fellowship and unity. He also noted that there has been growth in the ministry of intercession especially in the area of Prophetic Intercession in recent times.
A healing service followed in which Mr. Jim Murphy invited the young people gathered among the adults, to come forward and lay their hands on those who needed prayers, while he and the other ISAO participants prayed on stage. This was followed by the Celebration of the Eucharist with Bishop Francis Kalist of Meerut, India, as the main celebrant. There was also a time of laying of hands by the ISAO members and Gods love was evidently seen pouring forth like a river .
Many testimonies of healing poured in following the service as the anointing of the Lord covered the participants at the rally.
The Singapore Archdiocesan Catholic Charismatic Renewal (SACCRE) hosted the rally.
