The beginning of the mystery of prayer power in Cebu that will spread throughout the world in fulfilment of the Father’s desire for unity among His children.
Cebu Archdiocese formed Intercessory Network
Bro. Alejandro Aguspina Jr
More than 500 people gathered on March 3, 2018 in Cebu City, Philippines in a historic launching of Cebu Archdiocesan Network of Intercessors (CAN-I), the first of such kind in the Philippines, with a theme “PRAYER is POWER”.
The gathering, organized by Cebu Archdiocesan Commission on the Laity, was attended by lay people and some religious sisters from prayer groups of various organizations, mostly members of the charismatic renewal from Cebu. Others from the Dioceses of Butuan, Talibon, Tagbilaran and Dumaguete also came.
The main celebrant of the mass, Msgr. Fred Kriekenbeek, one of the pioneers of Charismatic Renewal in the Philippines, administered the Prayer of Commitment to a life of prayer and intercession. Msgr. Fred, in prophetic words, proclaimed the beginning of the mystery of prayer power in Cebu that will spread throughout the world in fulfilment of the Father’s desire for unity among His children.
The entire experience of the CAN-I Assembly was overwhelming, most especially during the workshop on prophetic intercession where many received some revelations.
CAN-I participants agreed to connect each other in the daily 3 o’clock prayer, through the social media and meet every quarter for spiritual formation and updating.
Many who have not attended were inspired to join and are looking forward to the next CAN-I Assembly in June 2018 to discuss the topic on Family Intercession.
Bro. Alejandro Aguspina,Jr, a charismatic preacher who attended the ISAO Conference on Intercession in Singapore last December 2017, is the coordinator and prime mover of CAN-I.
Commission on the Laity in the Archdiocese of Cebu is headed by Sis Fe Bario, who is also the Chair of Cebu-CCRS.
